The R.S.P.B. on Coll
The Isle of Coll has been home for the RSPB since with late 1980's. The reserve is based at Totronald where there are offices and a visitors' centre.
The reserve was set up in order to protect the Corncrake (crex crex) a rare bird in the UK that suffers from some modern-day farming practices. It has a very distinctive rasping call.
More information about the reserve can be found on the RSPB web page.
